In partnership with Cotlands, the Kula Foundation started a stimulation and support group for mothers and toddlers in the Macasser community. The main aim was to provide school-readiness programmes to equip the children for Gr R and Gr 1 in 2012. Mothers were trained on how to stimulate the children at home or during free time in order to aid their development. Support was also be given to mothers as required.

All good things must come to an end, so with the start of June 2012, Kula foundation said good-bye to Cotlands and the people of Macassar. We have left them with new knowledge and skills and we gained so much understanding and insight into the workings of a community under strain of poverty and drugs.  We truly hope our paths will cross again somewhere in the future.
